“Dr. Dan” is a Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine Physician, national Sports Medicine speaker and author with a passion for helping athletes not only stay on the field but perform at their peak levels. He was elected and served as a Chief Resident at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He then went on to be specialty trained in Sports Medicine by the “The Father of Sports Medicine”, Dr. Jack Hughston, at the Hughston clinic. For the past 25 years, he has worked with every level of athlete including Professional, Olympic, and Collegiate. He hosted a nationally syndicated Sports Medicine radio show, Dox n’ Jox for 12 years that interviewed world class athletes from all sporting endeavors and expert Sports Medicine specialists. He has lectured on Sports Medicine topics across the country, authored Sports Medicine textbook chapters and numerous articles. He is an been an award winning Sports Medicine instructor at the University and Medical School levels. He cofounded Saint Louis University’s Sports Medicine Fellowship program. His private Sports Medicine practice not only included a Sports Medicine clinic but also housed a Sports Medicine physical therapy clinic, world class sports performance and training center and clinics providing Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition, Sports Massage, Sports Orthotics and Bracing, Chiropractic and cryotherapy recovery services along with a health food restaurant.
His interest in sports began at a young age as a multisport All Conference athlete in high school. He went on to become a D1 collegiate baseball player where he was an NCAA academic All American athlete. His beautiful wife Tracy has specialty training in Sports Psychology and together they have three wonderful children. All three of their children have been part of National and State championship teams in numerous sports. His son became a Division I collegiate baseball player as well and currently trains full time at The Texas Baseball Ranch. Dr. Dan’s post collegiate athletic endeavors have included competing in marathon, cycling and triathlon events as well as completing a trifecta in Spartan racing. He built and operates a full size baseball field in his back yard as well as a Spartan training course. His other interests include being owner of Trails End vineyards, raising quail, vintage baseball card collecting and providing baseball instruction.
